Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop Opens in Downtown Mansfield This Thursday

A Sweet Addition to the Community Amid Downtown Revitalization

Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop is set to open its doors in downtown Mansfield this Thursday at 4:05 p.m., located at 80 W. Third St.

Occupying nearly 4,000 square feet in the historic Caldwell & Bloor Building, the shop offers a vast selection of nostalgic candies, international snacks, and over 350 varieties of old-fashioned glass-bottled sodas.

Additionally, visitors can enjoy hand-scooped ice cream, milkshakes, and floats.

The store also features gourmet hand-crafted chocolates and a wide assortment of treats, making it a must-visit destination for candy enthusiasts of all ages.

Christopher J. Beers, founder and CEO of Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop, expressed his enthusiasm: “We’re proud to bring Grandpa Joe’s to Mansfield. This community has a great spirit, and we’re excited to be a part of it. Our goal is to create a space where people connect over the things they remember – and find something new to love while they’re here.”

The opening coincides with the ongoing Main Street Corridor Improvement Project, an 18-month initiative aimed at revitalizing downtown Mansfield.

The project includes converting Main Street to two-way traffic, enhancing sidewalks, and adding new public gathering spaces.

Despite construction, downtown businesses remain accessible, and the community is encouraged to support local establishments during this period.

In addition to the candy shop’s debut, downtown Mansfield is hosting several events this month.

On Saturday, October 25, the Downtown Trick or Treat event will take place from 11 a.m. to noon, where local businesses will distribute candy to costumed visitors.

Later that day, the Construction Crawl 5K kicks off at 1 p.m., starting at the Salvation Army and concluding at the Phoenix Brewing Co., with proceeds benefiting local organizations.

Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop, founded in 2012 in Pittsburgh, PA, has expanded to 20 locations across several states.

The Mansfield store aims to become a cherished part of the community, offering a nostalgic experience that appeals to both young and old.

Whether you’re seeking a long-lost favorite candy or eager to try something new, Grandpa Joe’s invites you to step inside and indulge your sweet tooth.
