Ontario Tops Lexington, Advances to Elite Eight

Warriors Secure 2-1 Victory in Regional Semifinals

Ontario High School's girls' soccer team clinched a thrilling 2-1 win over Lexington in the Division III regional semifinals on Wednesday night, avenging an earlier season loss and securing a spot in the Elite Eight.

Senior forward Addi Pittman led the charge, netting both goals for the Warriors. Her first came in the sixth minute, assisted by Sasha Bulakovski. Later, Pittman's corner kick deflected off a Lexington defender, doubling Ontario's lead with just over 11 minutes remaining.

Lexington responded with a goal from Tessa Them, who capitalized on a free kick from Morgan Harrod, narrowing the gap to 2-1. Despite increased pressure, Ontario's defense held firm to secure the victory.

Reflecting on the win, Pittman expressed, "It feels good to be able to step up for my team. I'm grateful for the opportunity."

Ontario (16-4-1) will face Granville in the regional final at 6 p.m. Saturday at Marion Harding's Ohio Health Field. Granville advanced by defeating Elida 5-2 in their semifinal match.

A victory on Saturday would mark Ontario's first trip to the state semifinals since 2012, when they reached the Division III state championship game.
