Ontario Mayoral Candidates Present Divergent Visions for City's Future

Zeigler and Bradley emphasize distinct strategies on housing, infrastructure, and community engagement

Ontario's upcoming mayoral election features two candidates with contrasting approaches to the city's development: Cody Zeigler and Josh Bradley.

Both contenders are focusing on critical issues such as affordable housing, infrastructure improvements, and community involvement.

Cody Zeigler, 33, is a lifelong resident of Ontario and a 2010 graduate of Ontario High School.

With 11 years of experience as a mechanical equipment operator at ArcelorMittal, Zeigler emphasizes the importance of inclusive community representation.

"Having lived and thrived in Ontario, I have seen firsthand how much our community has to offer and how vital it is for every demographic to be heard and supported," Zeigler stated.

As the Democratic candidate, Zeigler pledges to bring a fresh perspective to city leadership, prioritizing affordable housing and infrastructure.

He plans to spearhead the development of a new water treatment facility to enhance Ontario's self-sufficiency.

Zeigler also highlights his active involvement in unions since age 19, currently serving as a steward for USW Local 3057.

"Despite the challenges we've faced during this inflationary period and the aftermath of COVID-19, I wholeheartedly believe that together we can navigate these obstacles," he said.

Josh Bradley, 43, is a Republican candidate and current 4th Ward councilman.

With 24 years of service as a firefighter/paramedic with the Springfield Township Fire Department, Bradley brings extensive experience in public service.

He has been instrumental in developing Ontario's Comprehensive Plan, which was built on surveys and input from residents.

"That's why I led the development of Ontario's Comprehensive Plan, which was built on surveys and input from our residents," Bradley said.

Bradley is also leading a complete update of the city's zoning code to protect existing neighborhoods and ensure growth reflects the community's vision.

"This is all about serving the community, managing growth responsibly, and making sure Ontario stays a great place to live and raise a family," he emphasized.

Both candidates are committed to addressing Ontario's housing needs.

Zeigler plans to uphold current zoning regulations while collaborating with local leaders to meet housing demands.

Bradley has been involved in creating a Community Improvement Corporation to spur development and is leading efforts to update the city's zoning code.

As Ontario approaches this pivotal election, residents have the opportunity to choose between two distinct visions for the city's future.
