Celebrating a Milestone in Community Mental Health Support |
NAMI Richland County is set to celebrate its relocation with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. on September 8.
This move signifies a significant step forward for the organization.
The new office, located at 2131 Park Avenue West, Suite 200, resides within the building owned by the Area Agency on Aging Foundation.
Aubrie Hall, executive director, emphasized that this collaboration offers a welcoming and accessible space that aligns with both organizations' missions to enhance community well-being.
This strategic relocation enables NAMI Richland County to better address the growing demand for mental health services, support groups, educational programs, and advocacy efforts throughout the region.
As an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization, NAMI Richland County continues to expand its reach.
Hall expressed gratitude for the support from dedicated agencies, local leaders, and generous donors, stating that the organization is now better positioned to meet the needs of individuals and families facing mental health challenges.
The upgraded facility will offer expanded space for support groups, education courses, and community trainings.
It will also feature private meeting rooms for one-on-one peer and family navigation.
Enhanced accessibility for individuals with disabilities is a key component of the new location.
The environment is designed to be warm and inclusive, aligning with NAMI's core mission.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, guests are invited to tour the new space, meet the NAMI Richland County team, and learn more about the organization's growing programs and impact until 4 p.m.
Hall acknowledged that this transition would not have been possible without the support of the Leadership Unlimited Class of 2025, attendees and donors of the 2025 NAMIWalks Richland County Event, the Ontario Police Department, and the primary funder, The Richland Recovery Network.
Partner support and fundraising have played a significant role in securing resources for this move and future program expansion.
Funding for NAMI Richland County comes from the Richland County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board levy and local fundraising efforts.
The levy is up for renewal this November. |
