Community gathers to mark a new chapter in mental health support |
Aubrie Hall, Executive Director of NAMI Richland County, led the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the organization's new office in Ontario.
The event, held at 2131 Park Avenue West, Suite 200, drew a large crowd of community members and officials, underscoring the significance of this milestone.
Ontario Service Safety Director Adam Gongwer commended NAMI for its longstanding collaboration with local law enforcement, highlighting the importance of crisis intervention training provided to officers.
Mansfield City Councilman Aurelio V. Diaz emphasized the organization's role in fostering open discussions about mental health, noting its invaluable contribution to the community.
Established in 2001 by Darlene Reed and Mary Kay Pierce, NAMI Richland County has been a cornerstone in providing education and support for those affected by mental illness.
Hall expressed gratitude to the founders for laying a solid foundation, enabling the organization to offer free educational programs and support groups.
She also acknowledged the efforts of the Leadership Unlimited Class of 2025 for their role in organizing the NAMIWalks Richland County event.
Hall extended an invitation to the community to participate in the upcoming NAMIWalks event in May, aiming to further promote mental health awareness and support.
