Ohio State Mansfield Achieves Four-Year Enrollment Peak |
Significant Growth Reflects Regional Campus Expansion |
The Ohio State University at Mansfield has reached a four-year high in student enrollment, with 911 students enrolled for the autumn 2025 semester, marking a 7.3% increase from the previous year.
First-year student enrollment has surged by over 18% compared to 2024, indicating a growing interest in the campus's offerings.
This upward trend is part of a broader pattern across Ohio State's regional campuses, which collectively experienced an average enrollment increase of 8.6%, totaling nearly 6,000 students across five campuses.
Including the Columbus campus, the university's total enrollment has risen by 0.5% to 67,255 students.
Jason Opal, dean and director of Ohio State Mansfield, expressed his enthusiasm: "It's a great pleasure to see our campus grow and to know that The Ohio State University, one of the top public universities in the country, continues its commitment to our future growth."
He added, "It's an exciting time to be here at the Mansfield campus, aka 'Buckeye North.'"
The campus has seen substantial growth in specific programs: health and rehabilitation enrollment increased by 73%, the business program by 36%, engineering by 16%, and arts and sciences by 12%.
These gains are attributed to initiatives like Upward Bound, a federally funded pre-college program, LeaderRichland for Richland County middle school students, and Manufacturing Days, which introduces high school students to manufacturing careers.
In his recent State of the University address, President Walter "Ted" Carter Jr. announced two new scholarship programs to support Ohio students choosing Ohio State.
The President’s Ohio Scholarship Program offers full cost of attendance scholarships, plus a $5,000 supplemental award, to Ohio students who achieve a perfect 36 on the ACT or 1600 on the SAT.
The Regional Campus Commitment program covers tuition and fees for students from families with an adjusted gross income of $100,000 or lower who start at one of Ohio State’s regional campuses before transferring to the Columbus campus.
