The Ontario Center Introduces Roller Rink Amidst Exciting New Developments

Community Hub Transforms with Fresh Attractions and Business Opportunities

The Ontario Center is set to unveil a new roller rink, marking a significant addition to its evolving landscape.

Initially, plans were in place for a synthetic ice skating rink.

However, after thorough evaluation, the decision was made to pivot towards a roller rink to better serve the community's interests.

Crystal Tolliver, the general manager of The Ontario Center, expressed her enthusiasm for the project.

"It's thrilling to create a space where people can come together, have fun, and make lasting memories," she stated.

"Knowing that this rink will offer an experience unlike anything else in the area makes this project especially rewarding."

The decision to transition from synthetic ice to a roller rink was influenced by several factors.

During an assessment of the synthetic ice product, it was found that the surface did not provide a satisfactory glide experience and lacked the desired aesthetic quality.

Additionally, the maintenance requirements were higher than anticipated.

These considerations led the team, including RCS Construction and Bruns Construction Enterprises, to conclude that a roller rink would offer a more enjoyable experience for the public.

The roller rink will be situated adjacent to the center court, ensuring easy access and visibility for visitors.

The initial setup will occupy a 40 x 100-foot space, with plans for expansion based on community response.

The target opening date is set for early to mid-November, though unforeseen delays are always possible with construction.

In addition to the roller rink, The Ontario Center is introducing several other attractions.

The Boardwalk Market will offer small business owners the opportunity to rent kiosks, providing a platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their products.

The market aims to replicate the ambiance of a real boardwalk, complete with epoxied sand at the entrance and bird statues in the windows.

Ocean sounds and soft music will further enhance the immersive experience.

Another exciting development is the expansion of Yummy Treats, Candy and More, a classic candy store within the center.

The expansion will introduce a variety of international candies and a root beer bar, offering root beer on tap.

Additionally, the store plans to offer hard-packed ice cream sourced locally from Marion and Bucyrus.

An arcade is also in the works, featuring claw machines, pool tables, and a section dedicated to computer gaming.

These additions aim to provide a diverse range of entertainment options for visitors of all ages.

As the holiday season approaches, The Ontario Center plans to host a series of events to engage the community.

One such event is Dueling Pianos, where guests can purchase tickets to enjoy live music, light refreshments, and community interactions.

These initiatives reflect The Ontario Center's commitment to revitalizing the space and creating a vibrant hub for the community.

With the introduction of the roller rink and other attractions, The Ontario Center is poised to become a favorite destination for families and friends in the area.
